Connecting a Message Channel to Communicate with Customers

What are Message Channels?

Message Channels allow you to offer customer service through chats on platforms such as: your Website(s), Facebook Pages, Instagram and Twitter Accounts. So Let’s get you one step closer to getting MORE customers and MORE help! 

Creating a Message Channel

To get started:

  • Ensure you are logged in to your Pupsai account. For help logging in, refer to Login to Pupsai.
  • Ensure you have subscribed to Pupsai. If you have not done so and need help subscribing, refer to Subscribing To Pupsai.
  • You should be an admin of the platform accounts you are adding, and ensure that you have the right credentials (usernames, passwords, etc.)
  • You will be redirected to the platforms to enter your credentials, as such, we encourage you to either temporarily disable pop-ups and ad-blockers, or allow Pupsai to show you popups.

Adding A Channel for Facebook

From your dashboard:

  1. In the navigation bar to the left of the page, select the “Customer Service” menu option
  2. From the drop down menu, select “Channels”
  3. You’ll be redirected to the “Message Channels” page
  4. Click the “Add New Channel” button
  5. From the “Platform” dropdown list select “Facebook”
  6. Click the “Continue with Facebook” button
  7. You will be redirected to enter your credentials
  8. Login to your account, then select the page(s) you wish to use and select “Next”
  9. In the next step, you will determine what Pupsai can do with the Pages you selected
  10. On the “Authorizing Facebook” Click the name of your Facebook page.
  11. Once the “successfully subscribed” message is seen, close the page and return to Pupsai

Adding A Channel for Instagram

From your dashboard:

  1. In the navigation bar to the left of the page, select the “Customer Service” menu option
  2. From the drop down menu, select “Channels”
  3. You’ll be redirected to the “Message Channels” page
  4. Click the “Add New Channel” button
  5. From the “Platform” dropdown list select “Instagram”
  6. Click the “Continue with Facebook” button. N.B: Facebook is used to verify your Instagram account
  7. You will be redirected to enter your credentials
  8. Login to your account, then select the page(s) you wish to use and select “Next”
  9. In the next step, you will determine what Pupsai can do with the Pages you selected
  10. On the “Authorizing Facebook” Click the name of your Facebook page.
  11. Once the “successfully subscribed” message is seen, close the page and return to Pupsai

Adding A Channel for Twitter

From your dashboard:

  1. In the navigation bar to the left of the page, select the “Customer Service” menu option
  2. From the drop down menu, select “Channels”
  3. You’ll be redirected to the “Message Channels” page
  4. Click the “Add New Channel” button
  5. From the “Platform” dropdown list select “Twitter”
  6. Click the “Authorize Using Your Twitter Account” button
  7. You will be redirected to enter your credentials
  8. Login to your account, then select the page(s) you wish to use
  9. Once the “Added new twitter Message Channel” message is seen, close the page and return to Pupsai

Adding A Channel for Shopify

From your dashboard:

  1. In the navigation bar to the left of the page, select the “Customer Service” menu option
  2. From the drop down menu, select “Channels”
  3. You’ll be redirected to the “Message Channels” page
  4. Click the “Add New Channel” button
  5. From the “Platform” dropdown list select “Shopify”
  6. Click the “Authorize Using Your Shopify Account” button
  7. You will be redirected to enter your Shopify store URL
  8. You will be redirected to Shopify and prompt to Login to your account
  9. Select your desired store and give authorization
  10. Once verified, close the page and return to Pupsai

Adding A Channel for Your Website(s)

Before you begin, please ensure that you create a page on your website, so that your website may be verified.

From your dashboard:

  1. In the navigation bar to the left of the page, select the “Customer Service” menu option
  2. From the drop down menu, select “Channels”
  3. You’ll be redirected to the “Message Channels” page
  4. Click the “Add New Channel” button
  5. From the “Platform” dropdown list select “Website”
  6. Scroll down to the “Website Configuration” section
  7. Enter your website URL in the “Domain” field
  8. Enter the verification code
  9. Enter the desired name for the Channel in the “Name” field
  10. Click “Add”

List of Channels Added

Once you have added the channel(s), you will be able to

  1. See a list of your channels
  2. Enable and disable your channels
  3. Edit your channels
  4. Delete your channels
